The ULTRA-TRAIL Mt. FUJI is an unprecedented event that aims to communicate the importance of challenging the human spirit through the outdoor sport of trail running and to provide the opportunity for people to enjoy and discover the natural beauty and culture of the Mt. Fuji region. The course prepared connects mountain trails, local footpaths, and forest roads, so that participants can run and walk right around the perimeter of Mt. PrimaLoft® is proud to sponsor the tenth annual Adirondack Backcountry Ski Festival hosted by The Mountaineer in Keene Valley, NY, March 3 & 4, 2012. The Backcountry Skifest celebrates the ski experience both in the Adirondack backcountry and in the greater ranges of the world. Backcountry skiing means skiing on natural snow in natural terrain, and combines all of the elements of touring, climbing and downhill skiing into a real winter mountaineering experience. Guest athlete, Glen Plake, will give a presentation on Saturday evening and Cloudsplitter Mountain Guides in Keene Valley will lead guided tours for several ability levels on Saturday and Sunday. Demos and mini clinics will be held at Otis Mountain in Elizabethtown on Saturday.
